Experimental Study on Anti-Icing of Robust TiO2/Polyurea Superhydrophobic Coating

This study aims to solve the icing problem of wind turbine blades in low-temperature environments and improve power generation efficiency turbines. In this study, modified TiO2 particles (500 nm), butyl acetate solvent, polyaspartic acid ester polyurea (PAE polyurea), Crestron N75 curing agent were mixed sprayed on epoxy resin board surface. Static test, dynamic wear resistance adhesion strength test studies carried out evaluate anti-icing performance coating as well its mechanical stability. The results showed that stability relatively optimal when ratio PAE was 1.5. Under ratio, static contact angle 161.4°, rolling 4.7°. main reason for superhydrophobic after 250 cycles encapsulated by polyurea. still greater than 150° eight icing–de-icing cycles. paper provides a simple method prepare robust promotes application coatings field passive blades.
